Why We Ask You to Split 100 Points

Real life is rarely either/or. Why splitting 100 points between two good answers gives a truer picture than agree/disagree or forced choices.

Most tests ask you to rate statements from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree". The trouble is that good-sounding statements all get a high score. You end up agreeing with everything, and the result says little.

Other tests force you to choose: A or B. That is more honest, but it is often unfair. Many of our early testers told us, "Both are true of me. It depends on the day."

A better way: 100 points

In Apex Strengths, each question is a short everyday situation with two good responses. You split 100 points between them: 50/50 if both are equally you, 70/30 if you lean one way, 100/0 if one is simply not you.

You only have 100 points, so you cannot give full marks to everything. But you never have to pretend that only one answer is true.

This shows not just which way you lean, but how strongly. Across 80 situations, written for your stage of life and your own line of work, those small choices add up to a clear picture of how you naturally think and act.

It takes a little more thought than ticking a box. That is the point. The extra few seconds are what make the report feel like you.
